I didn’t grow up in a home that practiced the tradition of Lent, but I am drawn to the idea of doing something special for the 40 days leading up to Easter. It’s so easy to let the season go by and miss the point of it all, which is Jesus.
So I put together a collection of 40 Scriptures for Lent for our readers. These verses are ones that the Holy Spirit laid on my heart as I was preparing it. I am excited to see what He would have to say to me (and us, if you’d like to join!) during this season.
I plan on reading the verse for the day in the morning (or during my time with the Lord) and taking a minute to meditate on its meaning. I then hope to remember to think about it throughout the day!! I will be praying that the Holy Spirit gives us new and fresh insight into His words. (He is the author, so I’m sure He has a pretty good idea!)
This might even be something I do with my kids in the morning at breakfast and see what God would have to say to them through it. We can all ask God together to show us what He wants us to see through His word.
